Self-initiated original entertainment-IP system by Islam Ashraf, developed as a connected story world, website prototype, launch sequence and AI assisted production system.

Case study from a self-initiated original IP. Episode 01 and its launch sequence are published on Watch; the website is shown as a prototype, and production assets are archive material. No audience or performance results are claimed.

01 · Creative challenge

Build a property, not a campaign skin

The system needed to sustain episodes, characters, play, social content and a soft commerce layer without presenting itself as a pet shop, a software product or a collection of disconnected AI images.

Narrative
One emotional premise with repeatable episode logic
Identity
Five locked characters with distinct roles and signals
Experience
Story, Watch, character discovery and playable rooms
Launch
Teaser, episode and social cut as one ordered sequence
02 · The universe

The house carries the mystery

The world is designed around behavior rather than explanation. Timing, beeps, water, light and silence let the house reveal tension before a character names it.

Can someone who caused chaos come back and help - or will the family repeat the same mistake?
The past

PawPilot

An earlier controlling system that decided for the family. Its failure remains part of the house's memory, not an active talking assistant.

The better principle

FamilyFlow

A system designed to inform and coordinate without taking control: PawPilot decided. FamilyFlow informs.

The story engine

The living house

Domestic technology becomes narrative punctuation. A wrong sound or early action can move five characters toward the same question.

  • The family are anthropomorphic characters living their own domestic life; there are no human owners.
  • Season 1 has no active talking AI assistant.
  • Technology communicates through behavior, interfaces, rhythm, light and silence.
  • Mystery stays warm and family-readable rather than becoming horror or neon science fiction.
03 · The family

Five roles, five ways to read the same signal

The character system separates silhouette, voice, observation pattern and dramatic function. That makes each family member useful in episodes, short-form content and interactive rooms without changing who they are.

Noir visitorProduction archive

Glitch

A charming rogue whose warmth and trouble arrive together.

I think your house missed me.
Visual identifiers
Dark cat · yellow eyes · noir hat · long black coat
Narrative tension
He knows the house better than he should and returns carrying unfinished history.

Glitch is designed as a charming rogue and returning disruption, not a mascot villain.

Routine guardianProduction archive

Matrix

Calm, precise and grounded; the schedule is a form of care.

Dinner is in twelve minutes.
Visual identifiers
German Shepherd · deep teal quarter-zip · smartwatch
Narrative tension
He notices timing failures first, but routine cannot explain why the house remembers.

Matrix carries the visual discipline of the family routine: grounded posture, teal knit and smartwatch.

Approved hero reference · character lock

Evidence · Locked character identity for generation and continuity review

Calm co-leaderProduction archive

Nova

Slowly.
Visual identifiers
Grey cat · tailored teal · composed silhouette
Narrative tension
She reads emotional danger before the room can name it and protects the family's boundaries.

Nova's composed silhouette supports her role as the family's calm, protective co-leader.

Young creatorProduction archive

Futura

I have notes.
Visual identifiers
Grey cat · headphones · teal hoodie · creator styling
Narrative tension
She turns strange details into visual proof and pushes the family to look again.

Headphones, creator styling and an alert expression make Futura readable across story and play formats.

Approved hero reference · character lock

Evidence · Locked character identity for generation and continuity review

Zuku

Warm, dry and pattern-led, with football focus and a precise sense of rhythm.

Visual identifiers
Young golden dog · teal hoodie · restrained expression
Narrative tension
He catches tiny changes everyone else might dismiss and says only what matters.

Zuku's warm silhouette and restrained expression support dry humor and close attention to rhythm.

Approved hero reference · character lock

Evidence · Locked character identity for generation and continuity review

04 · Story architecture

Episode logic built on controlled reveal

Episode 01, Twelve Minutes, demonstrates a repeatable structure: establish a household pattern, break it through character-specific signals, converge the family, then reveal the deeper cause without closing the wider question.

A smart feeder display reading Dinner: 12 Minutes in the dark living room.
Beat 01Published

Establish the routine

A precise twelve-minute signal gives the audience a simple rule to remember.

A precise routine is established before the house breaks it.

Episode 01 selected still · opening signal

Evidence · Story setup through object timing rather than exposition

Zuku notices a change in the smart fountain's water rhythm.
Beat 02Published

Repeat the wrongness

A changed water rhythm proves the first disruption was not an isolated error.

A second domestic signal makes the disruption feel systemic, not accidental.

Episode 01 selected still · escalation signal

Evidence · Character-specific observation and escalating house behavior

The SmartPaw family converges in the middle corridor after noticing the house signals.
Beat 03Published

Converge the family

Separate observations bring the characters through the same middle threshold.

Separate character observations converge into one shared family question.

Episode 01 selected still · family convergence

Evidence · Multi-character blocking and controlled reveal structure

Glitch turns toward the family in the living room beside the feeder.
Beat 04Published

Reveal, then leave a signal

Glitch's return answers the immediate question while the house keeps the story open.

The episode resolves its signals into a character return while leaving the house slightly unsettled.

Episode 01 selected still · final reveal

Evidence · Payoff, character introduction and continuing story tension

05 · World and visual language

Geography is part of the script

Rooms were locked as production environments with clear thresholds, exits and recurring objects. That makes cross-room movement legible and gives generated shots a continuity standard to meet.

Production archiveLocked environment · living room master wide

The living room connects routine, technology and family movement without becoming a product showroom.

Evidence · House geography and recurring story-object continuity

Production archiveLocked environment · dog room master wide

The dog room turns Matrix and Zuku's attention to timing and rhythm into a repeatable setting.

The threshold that turns separate signals into a shared family movement.

Continuity

06 · AI assisted production

AI assisted, human-directed production

The workflow treats generation as a controlled shot-production stage, not as authorship by accident. References and environments are locked first; candidates are reviewed against story, character and continuity before the edit is approved.

AI assisted production: generated candidates were used as controlled production inputs under human creative direction. Approved references, shot specification, continuity review, edit assembly and final approval remained directed by Islam Ashraf.

  1. 01

    Approved references

Lock character, wardrobe, scale and room identity.

  2. 02

    Shot specification

Define story beat, framing, action, attachments and negative constraints.

  3. 03

    Generated candidates

Create short controlled options rather than an uncontrolled full episode.

  4. 04

    Critique

Reject drift, weak acting, broken props and visual noise.

  5. 05

    Continuity check

Compare geography, wardrobe, scale, light and start/end frames.

  6. 06

    Voice and audio

Build dialogue, rhythm, music and house signals around the scene.

  7. 07

    DaVinci assembly

Shape pacing, sound, edit and final sequence in the manual timeline.

  8. 08

    Final approval

Promote only selected work from candidate to approved.

07 · Web experience

09 · Social and content system

A repeatable content system around the episode

The launch plan uses one main SmartPaw Family identity. Formats extend character behavior and story signals without requiring separate character accounts or unsupported results claims.

Working system

House signals

Short hooks built around wrong timing, changed rhythm, light and silence.

Distinct reactions and signature lines make each family member a reusable format.

Episode fragments

Teasers, reveals and response cuts return audiences to the published story.

Play carry-through
